Looking for ways to make money online? Business Owl has come up with 101 ways to do exactly that! Number seven on the list – online surveys.

What are Online Surveys?

Paid or incentivised online surveys are statistical surveys which are designed to collect data about products or services from specific demographic groups. Many of the world’s top brands are now conducting market research by doing consumer surveys online, instead of via traditional means.

How Do I Make Money From Online Surveys?

Respondents are rewarded for taking part in online surveys with small cash payments, Amazon gift cards or free product samples. Good Morning America reports that experienced online survey participants can earn between $50 and $100 (approximately R425-R850) per month. Not bad for answering a few easy questions!

How Do I Take Part in Online Surveys?

  • Join credible online survey sites – this will take a fair bit of research (Google ‘paid survey sites’) and  a great deal of common sense
  • Provide personal and demographic information – reputable online survey sites should keep this information private and confidential; if you can’t see a privacy policy, skip that site and move on to the next one.
  • You will be selected for surveys based on your demographic information
  • If you’re selected for a survey, you will be asked to complete a quick screening survey to confirm you are the correct demographic
  • If you qualify, you will be asked to complete the longer online survey.
