What is TaskRabbit?
TaskRabbit is a US-based online and mobile platform which connects folks which need a job, task or chore done (“Task Posters”), with someone who can do it (a “Task Rabbit”). Task Posters can be busy private individuals short on time or businesses which lack the staff to get a certain job done. Task Rabbits hail from all walks of life and come in all shapes and sizes, but all go through a rigorous application process during which they’re background-checked and screened.
How Does Task Rabbit Work?
Task Posters log on to the TaskRabbit website, select their city and click ‘Post a task’. They’re asked to describe the task – for example, whether it’s a shopping errand to run or office help required, and whether it’s a once-off or recurring job – and to name their location and price. Task Rabbits in their vicinity then bid on the job – the one with the lowest bid wins the gig. Once the Task Rabbit has completed the task, the Task Poster pays them online, through the TaskRabbit website. To guarantee good calibre Task Rabbits, Task Posters are asked to rate their rabbits, indicating levels of satisfaction.
